Inaugurated in 2022, CellEAST is Romania’s first festival dedicated to the cello. Held every year in May, CellEAST highlights the strengths of this seemingly sober instrument, but which surprises with its ability to adapt to the most diverse musical styles. The festival’s symphony and chamber concerts offer repertoires beloved by audiences, as well as less familiar works, played by famous Romanian and international musicians.
One of the concerts in the Romanian Athenaeum’s Season is included in the Festival, featuring works for cello performed by leading Romanian and international cellists such as Andrei Ioniță, Răzvan Suma, Wen-Sinn Yang, and countless others. In addition to the concert, there are also prestigious solo and chamber recitals.
